CONNECTED EVERYTHING: IMPLICATIONS FOR WELLNESS AND PRIVACY IN A HYPER-CONNECTED WORLD

Chris Dancy, Chief Digital Officer & SVP, HEALTHWAYS

Wellness programs are often under the microscope for their ability to show ROI. But what if employees had as much information about their health and habits as is available to a world class researcher or scientist? Would these mountains of actionable data be the tipping point that led to real changes in how people live? Chris Dancy is one of the world’s first data-driven health “pro-sumers.” He calls himself a mindful cyborg, utilizing up to 700 sensors, devices, applications and services to track, analyze and optimize many areas of his existence. This quantification enables him to see connections in otherwise invisible data, resulting in dramatic upgrades to his health, productivity and quality of life. But this connectivity also has implications for where companies will draw the line on privacy, and what the limits are for data sharing in the model world.  In this talk Chris will explore these questions and more from his vantage point as “The Most Connected Human on Earth.”
