In the post-ACA environment, purchasers are consistently striving to achieve better health care value by lowering their costs and leveraging better quality.  However, many employers do not know the factors that lower health care spend, nor do they have a defined measurement for quality health care delivery.  This session will break down the components of the health equation by explaining what drives each of these measures and outline strategies to optimize both cost and quality. The session will cover issues around pricing transparency, employee health literacy, quality measures, and efforts around value-based benefit design and value-based payments.  Employers will walk away with actionable steps to implement at their organization to determine their greatest cost drivers as well as strategies to steer employees to higher quality health providers.
