Employers have many options to consider in the exchange market. Exchanges are quickly developing into platforms for access to ancillary/voluntary benefits as well as retirement/financial products.  There’s no need for employers to assume it’s a one-size-fits-all marketplace. In fact, many employers are interested in ancillary-only exchanges for specific employee populations, including pre- and post-65.

This panel of broker/consultants and insurance carriers will examine how ancillary plan designs are changing in light of healthcare reform and to provide a report on the state of ancillary-only exchanges. The panel will address, in detail, the specific products included in ancillary-only exchanges, their funding mechanisms, and the populations for which they are designed. Session attendees will also hear about strategies for evaluating exchanges and what employers can do to be more strategic and confident in their selection of an exchange for ancillary benefits.
