ASSESSING BEHAVIORAL HEALTH COSTS AND SOLUTIONS

Caitlin Kozicki, Employee Assistance/Workplace Programs Director, PEER ASSISTANCE SERVICES, INC.

Behavioral health is impacting businesses and employees. The estimated cost of job stress in the U.S. is $300 billion a year and depression is $30–$44 billion a year for U.S. businesses. Among those who abuse substances, health benefi t utilization is 300% higher. The good news is there are different
wellness models you can implement into your organization to promote wellness.
• Participants will be able to assess their organizational risk and calculate the costs associated with substance use and/or other behavioral health issues specific to their workplace/industry.
• Participants will be able to identify behavioral health issues that could impact their workplace and identify wellness options that could be implemented to address them.
